Since 2016, BESAD has been mobilizing to meet the needs of community members in Israel, particularly newcomers facing financial or social challenges. Every day, we receive dozens of requests, and we do everything possible to respond effectively.
We operate on multiple fronts to provide practical and immediate support.
Support for Families and Those in Need
Financial insecurity affects many families in Israel, and BESAD implements tailored solutions:
Food Assistance
- Distribution of food baskets for families in need
- Prepaid cards for shopping at partner supermarkets
- Support for Shabbat and holiday meals
Emergency Financial Aid
- Partial or full coverage of essential bills (electricity, water, gas)
- Support for rent payments to prevent evictions
- Assistance with school fees for children from families in distress
Clothing and Material Support
- Distribution of clothing and shoes to families in need
- Provision of essential household items (furniture, basic appliances)
Support for Youth and Students in Need
- Financial assistance for young people without family support
- Partial coverage of study expenses
Psychological and Social Support
- Referral to specialized social services
- Provision of psychological support for individuals in distress
Support for New Immigrants (Olim Hadashim)
Making Aliyah can be challenging. BESAD is a key partner in helping newcomers integrate into Israeli life:
- Guidance and advice for adapting quickly to life in Israel
- Administrative assistance with government procedures
- Material and social support to ensure a smooth settlement
Support for Patients and Hospitalized Individuals
BESAD provides tailored support for sick and hospitalized individuals:
- Provision of medical equipment (wheelchairs, crutches, hospital beds, etc.)
- Donation of medications for those unable to afford them
- Distribution of hot meals to hospitalized patients
- Activities and accompaniment to reduce patient isolation
